Pay as you go driving instructor training
Training costs are £50 per hour. No contracts or commitments, just someone who has your best interests at heart.
Why train to become a driving instructor?
If you are considering a new career, you should think about what is going to make you happy. I believe that being happy comes from doing something that you consider to be important and doing it well. I consider road safety to be important, and I get immense happiness from helping people develop a skill that will (literally) get them places. If you are motivated by helping people to develop a skill for life, and motivated by road safety, then this is the career for you.
In order to qualify, you must pass three tests. The part 1 is a test of driving theory and the part 2 is a practical driving test. Once these two are complete, you can start training for the part 3 which is usually broken into 40 hours before you can start teaching, followed by 20 hours of training between delivering driving lessons to real clients. The part 3 test will take the form of an examiner sitting in on one of your lessons to assess your teaching ability.
Complete flexibility
If you want to stop work every day at 2pm so you can spend time with your kids, then you can! If you want to put in the hard work to save up for a house deposit or big holiday, the work is available. Driving instructors charge between £40 to £45 per hour.
Having an impact
Everyone remembers their driving instructor. The impact you have on your students will see them onto the roads, and your lessons will decide if they are safe and relaxed behind the wheel, or reckless and stressed.
Being futureproof
Every year we see the introduction of new road safety measures. That means there will always be a demand for quality driving instructors to educate new learners on the rules and develop their skills.
Why train with Dutton Driving School?
There are many training providers out there and I recommend you do your reasearch to find one that is correct for you. Below I have listed what sets me apart from other schools. My sessions are all 1 on 1, and you will never be tied down or contracted.
1 on 1 training for every session
Many schools are able to advertise cheap training courses by doing lessons in groups, which is often hidden until after you have signed up. That might well be a good business model, but it's bad for you as the trainee. Being in a group means that what you are learning is not based around your individual needs, and is instead a rigid lesson.
As a driving instructor, it is very important to understand that lessons must be adaptable to the individual pupil as they learn. If you are training in a group, the lesson very quickly becomes unsuitable as some people will learn at a quicker pace and if they have to wait while the rest of the class catches up, they are wasting time. Or perhaps someone misses a crucial point and due to the group setting, the trainer does not realise and moves on to the next learning point. By only delivering 1 on 1 training, I can ensure that the lesson is always suitable and adapted to you.
This also means that you do not have to go through offices or recruitment managers for the training. You will have my direct number if you ever need extra support or just to talk.
No contract, not ever
Many schools will tie you into a franchise fee and ask for a big lump sum up front. The franchise might be contracted to 12 or 24 months, and if you want to leave many will ask for 12 weeks' notice on top of that. Many schools continued to charge during Covid lockdowns, despite it being impossible to work. You will never be contracted into the training with me. I rely on keeping my trainees by providing quality training and being genuinely supportive, not by legally binding them into staying with me for a set time.
My training sessions are pay as you go and flexible. You can recieve the training in an intensive few weeks, or spread it out over a longer period to allow for other commitments.
